10 June 2022 Vancouver BC: More fun Downtown Vancouver

The Vancouver Art Gallery was a mix between small museum and large gallery.  There was a wide variety of galleries to view, but there were two distinct things that stand out.  The first and perhaps most brilliant was that they allowed a bunch of kids to write down what they thought the art was about.  So the formal tag was on the wall listing the name of the work, the date, the artist, and sometimes a blurb by the artist.  Also on the tag would be a kid's pencil scrawled critique of the work of art.  Many times those kids hit it, spot on.  The second standout was an entire floor devoted to the intersection of AI and Art. There were painting robots that would mimic an artist style and then riff on that.  There was shape shifting videos and shapes that took on the appearance of skin.  We strolled around looking for an old school elegant bar to meet Mike and Deb on Saturday.  The Fairmont and the Rosewood both got a visit but the Reflections Lounge drew us in for a bite and a cuppa.  Both items turned out to be more than we expected.  My green tea turned out to be a delightful Midnight Hour Tea.  It was so tasty I did not care what kind of tea it was.  My usual green tea is usually low in caffeine but the black tea in the Midnight Hour packed a punch of caffeine.  Weeee!  The lobster tacos were tasty and I ate mine with a particular gusto.  The order was only two smallish tacos so they were consumed quickly.  After they were gone I said that I could certainly had room for more. No sooner had I said this then the hostess comes over with a another plate of tacos!  Leslie says that we already had ours so those could not be ours.  Still, I offered to make room for them on the table.  Instead she turned and went back to see what table really ordered them.  We got a chuckle from all that but we really laughed when she came back to the table and gave us the tacos anyway.  It turns out it was an extra order made by mistake...or was it taco voodoo magic?
