We arrived early into port and it was cold and overcast. It soon cleared up and the sun was shining and warm. There were a series of large scale wooden sculptures right at the dock. Folks had pieces there from Missouri, Vermont and Washington State. The 9 foot Kraken was elaborate and the 8 foot jellyfish was cool. We saw another one being transported by a forklift. Town was spread out and very modern. It has to be because the former town was destroyed in 1964 by a huge magnitude 9.2 earthquake. The museum had many items earthquake related displays but also some pioneer days items. They listed out all of the items that prospectors were required to have to enter Canada. There was even a section about the oil spill. Very inclusive indeed.
