13 June 2022 Vancouver BC: A day of exploring the ship.

We got up and found some breakfast after a little wandering about.  As you can see above it was a happy breakfast!  We met up with Deb and Mike and toured the ship.  They had been on a similar ship previously so they were more knowledgeable than we were.  First we walked the 1/4 mile jogging track on the 2nd floor.  But we could not go all the way around since they were working on the cable.  So we did a few shortened laps.  Leslie saw a harbor seal and it was still there by the time we all got over to her.  We continued to tour the ship and saw the various Viking specific areas.  There was a section containing Viking era artifacts, a planetarium,  a lending library, the famed winter garden and the explorers club.  We found the recreation deck where there was mini golf, lawn bowling, shuffle board and ping pong.  We all had a try at the lawn bowling but the coconscious was that the uneven surface was the cause of our poor performances.  We found ourselves at a table in the cafe and so we had a bit for lunch before our 2:15 lecture on the indigenous peoples.

Bowling for dollars!

Roll that ball!

Coming in for a direct hit

Success!

It is officially uneven and the reason we were not selected to the US Olympic Lawn Bowling Team

The Explorer Lounge is in the top front of the ship

With lots of windows and solar heating
