Our driver got us at 11:00 A and we were off to sit in some traffic. It only took an hour ten to get to the airport compared to more than an hour and a half getting in from the airport. We passed some nice living walls, a very old aqueduct, a few bridges and some nice countryside. The airport is immense with hugely tall ceilings and cavernous arrival and departure halls. The lounge was top rate and we sat in the tea area. There was time to waste and waste it we did!

Was getting some food at one of the many stations when a guy asked me where I was from. After giving the quick description he says that I was a legend, dude.

This denomination is worth 0.17 USD, so not much. We had 21 of these left over, 105 liras, and wanted to spend then in Duty Free. We found some toothbrushes and almost had enough to buy two packages costing 110 liras. The guy at the counter was going to let me slide on being one bill short but then this bill caught his attention. He proclaimed that it was no good. He gave it back to me and when I tried to just leave it behind he said that it was forbidden. Is it too old? Is the red stain a sign that it may have been stolen? Is it radioactive? I even took it next door to the money exchange counter to get answers. No answers there either
