15 September 2024 Rosscarbery: A Very Scenic Drive and a Stop at Clonakilty

We got a message from the AirBnB host that there were no new guests so we could leave at our leisure. That meant we did not leave Cobh until noon. It also gave us ample time to sleep in, 10:00, and pack up the car at our own pace.  Even though it was only an hour and a half ride we were determined to take longer so we took a few unplanned exploratory "detours.".  We stopped off in the picturesque town of Clonakilty to check out a specific restaurant.  It turns out we were not really hungry so we kept on going to the Anchorage, our stay in Rosscarbery.

Oyster Catchers on the wing

A tall railroad bridge

The classic Irish countryside we always imagined

Missing one cow to get the cow circle clock

It is Cow Henge

A vine covered old wall

The green doors are nice

Carved tree stumps

Most every circle had a piece of art in the center

Send in the cows...

There already here

More art on display

In Clonakilty they cut a hole in the tree to allow clearance for the wires

Nice window

Odd name for a restaurant

Wazzy who?

Cork is the largest county in Ireland

The buildings are colorfully painted

An odd croc monster

Pub o' blooms

Say that three times fast

More decorative walls

The ubiquitous spire

All through town we saw cut outs of folks with binoculars

Nicely upkept

The sun is breaking through the clouds

An affront to the front of a VW Bus

This was a laundry with a cheeky sign

A smaller church a few blocks away from the main one

Monkeys!

Hornbills!

This colorful town is also filled with animals

Odd that the sign next to the cut out is for a CCTV surveillance

The Anchorage!

So cozy and a great kitchen to boot

Flowers in front

A very nice place

The Rooks live here

This place is the bomb!

It has been 2 years and 102 days since we began our Migration
