19 September 2024 Dingle: Out and About in Dingle

We continued driving on the Wild Atlantic Way right into Dingle.  It is a little fishing village that is still operating as a port.  We were a bit early so we walked about town a while.  Then when it was getting closer to the check in time we tried to find the AirBnB.  It  took us a while and some back and forth with the host but  we finally got in.  It was vary old building and the surroundings were not ideal.  but the inside was completely redone with everything brand new.  We headed out for dinner and then to a pub to listen to some Irish music.  A bride and groom came in and we talked with them for an hour or more.  They were from Indiana and were great fun.  As the first band was finishing up and the second band was setting up it got really crowded and hot. In all the excitement we got up and left without paying!  After I was in bed I asked Leslie if we had paid and we had not.  So she sent an email to the pub telling them we would be by the next day to pay our tab.  The responded at 1:30 AM.

The federal government decided , on its own, to drop the name Dingle and use the Gallic name instead.  Needless to say, Daingin, did not stick

Looking out to the inlet

We popped into a shop that makes clothes from discarded raw materials.  Lots of old towels from the hospitality industry are dyed and make into beach wear

Crab pots or lobster pots?

We are staying here
