Two brothers own competing pubs. Above is Pat Collins pub and his brother is Sean Collins's pub is a block away. Pat is known for good food and Sean is known for good music. Three musicians were setting up to play when a fourth man came in and he took out an accordion. He had a low booming voice that cut through the bar chatter so we were able to eavesdrop on his conversation. Near as we could discern he was from Plymouth Mass and was driving around Ireland playing with local musicians. He did not know all of the songs, so at times he would just sit there and listen. I noticed that he was recording the set, perhaps to go back and learn from the recordings. They played non stop and a backpacker couple who came in from the rain danced. A good time was had by all. The music started at 8 and people started filtering out from 8:30 to 8:45. By 9 PM we were next to last folks in the pub. It was time for us to leave and luckily we were only a block away.
