2 September 2024 Toronto: Air Show Along the Banks of the Lake

We made the effort to be on the waterfront to see the last of the three day Air Show.  We got to see so much more this way!  Lots of different planes and acrobatics.  The folks were out in force with their chairs, dogs, kids, BBQ grills and such.  We walked all the way down to Sunnyside Beach and then turned around.  We made it back home a few minutes after the finale so we planned this excursion perfectly

A big group of bikes

Every good vantage was occupied

A very large propeller driven seaplane

Seaplane, kayak, sailboat and fireboat off in the distance

Maneuvering is sluggish compared to the other planes

This path was not too crowded

The dreaded deal leaf bird

Pine cone time

Puppy time!

The peeps are out in force

Lots of boats to the west and a dragon fly too

Lots of boats to the east

The dragonflys are huge, this one looks like a helicopter!

Little boats in the middle

Time to take a break

Hello empty bench, make room for us

The planes scare up so many birds

Clear day!

Jet next to the tower

So many personal watercraft

Stand up, sit down paddle, paddle, paddle

The pedestrian bridge was popular

Swans are thew heavies of all the birds that can fly

Constant maintenance of the feathers is required

A brief and rare gap int eh passage of the pedestrians

Loop de Loop

Lined up in a row

The fireboat was spewing water all afternoon

The cormorant is photobombing

Affenpinscher?

Goose butt!

Going down

Yelling timber

The smoke behind the planes immediately swirled and twisted

Turning

Upside down

Flying in formation

the smoke looks like ribbons

Adding more planes

Now we have nine planes

The diamond formation

Swinging back behind the tower

they must have a good view even if it is fleeting

Getting ready for the finale

Banana boat

The official opening of the restricted boating area and soon a parade of boats were heading back up the Humber River
