3-4 June 2025 Rome to Tokyo: A Marathon and a Half

We flew ITA airlines and our rating for business class was a solid 3.5.  The cons:  an hour long delay on take off, the lay flat beds were pretty small, the pod had little room to turn over and a crew member was quite curt and a bit rude.  Pros: a direct flight to Tokyo, tasty food and the lounge was delightful both times we visited it (before and after the delay).  It was a 12 hour flight over the Black Sea and China.  we took off in the daylight, flew through the night and landed in the daylight again.  Neither of us got much if any real sleep and we were exhausted.  Add to that the 7 hour change in tome zones and we did not last long before we were sleeping.
