30 May 2025 Rome: The Capitoline Museums

After climbing up a serious set of stairs we arrived at the Capitoline Hill and the  Capitoline Museums.  Upon our entry we saw the gigantic parts of a Constantine statue.  The hand you see above was from such a colossus.  Other notable items were works by Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Titan, Reubens and more.  There museums spanned two different buildings.  Lots to see!

At least we did not have to go back down as well as up these stairs

Scaffolding on all the museums

Grim reaper

We are not even inside and there are huge statues

This is a copy of the Equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelias

Think of the toe jam that builds up in between these huge toes

Mamma Mia!

Build them big

Lots of extras
