Above is the Hokkaido Governor's house. We are not sure it is currently occupied or if it is just the traditional house of the Governor. It is surrounded by a lovely park with a stream running through it and some art in the open area. We strolled through the park and enjoyed the peaceful nature. Then on our way back home we stumbled on the Odori Park Rose Garden. What a fantastic treat! So many blooms! On top of that a dog club came through to get pictures with their dogs. We did not expect to find this magnificent garden but at the end of the garden we saw that Portland Oregon, "the rose city," is the sister city to Sapporo.
A fine shrine in the woods
A very quiet path
The stream
All forks drain to this area
Standing waves
One big smooth rock
Cypress trees
A tree circle
Some sculptures
Off we go to the house
Who knew how many roses were here
So many colors
Even the schoolgirls can tear themselves away from their phones to enjoy the flowers
So red that the camera can not handle the color
Red, white and beautiful
Each bush was so full of blooms
Pretty sassy for being naked
Ok maybe she has pants on
So full
It goes on and on
Half of the garden had USA favorites
Sister City plaque
The dog club has arrived
Most of them were little dogs
Walking over the bridge
Half of the garden had Asian favorites
Pink and gold
Packed tightly
Bursting out
This is a Maibaum is a type of Maypole and is very German
Holding the pooches
Stone temple dog
Looking back at the garden
It is very large indeed
Hanging out in a kimono
Almost perfect
A selfie before we head out
The length of the garden
Some tasty baked treats
A little bird
Oversized doughnuts
The Boston Bakes rocks
This trolly was overfilled
It has been 3 years and 15 days since we began our Migration
