A boat ride to the Treehouse Lodge

We are entering the dry season and the river levels are dropping. As such they had to reposition the boat dock. When I say dock, I mean a makeshift raft platform. The boat had the dock tied to it and was maneuvering back and forth to get it close enough to shore so that we could hop on top of it. We walked up a 2 x 12 board to get onto the dock and then into the boat we go. Watching all the luggage get loaded was amusing. I barely fit into the entryway but was lucky that I had the front seat where I could stretch my legs out. They were a row of seats on the right and a row seats on the left and a 6 inch wide aisle down the middle. We made the trip in 44 minutes and it was 14 km.

Big River, big danger

It is wide and fast

We're going fast up the next River
