Dinner at The Belmond

The large portions at lunch had us keyed to the possibility of an unreasonable amount of food being brought out. Leslie skip the starter but I got the starter which actually was almost Sushi like. Instead of a bed of rice it was a bed of mashed Andean Peruvian potatoes and then tasty bits on top. I then ordered alpaca that came with two spinach raviolis stuffed with cheese. They were it was all very tasty. Leslie ordered suckling pig and it was a large portion and we both had to work on that one. Three gentlemen wearing red ponchos had a great show. Each one played two instruments simultaneously, pan flute and percussion instrument, guitar and whistling, mandolin and nose flute. Just kidding about the nose flute. I had a lovely Peruvian Cabernet Sauvignon. Leslie had a great beer made in Cuzco.
Our turndown service brought in a aromatic candle in a beautiful little dish filled with water. Good thing it was filled with water because we went to dinner and left it burning
