May 10 was the "Global Big Day" where all birders are encouraged to get out and do some bird peeping. Leslie suggested that I hop over to the park that is 10 minutes away so she can take it easy I was a block away from the parkwhen I noticed people carrying bouquets of flowers and potted plants. When I got to the park I discovered that there was a huge festival going on. I sent pictures back to Leslie and called her to tell her about all the flowers. I knew she would not want to miss this event. So I headed back and picked her up. We took our lunch back to the park. Walking in the fresh air, seeing all the flowers and the 100 plus doge really invigorated her. We stopped at nearly every flower booth and half of the other vendors too. There is a World Wildlife Fund nature reserve within the park and we eventually found our way there. It was a nice shady area with a bit of a swamp. We decided to head back and buy all the things we saw on the way in.
