We took a day trip over to Florence. It was a half hour train ride and prior to departure we were able to scope out the train station. We have day trip to Venice and another one to Florence both when Laura arrives. It pays to know where you need to be and how long it takes to get there. So we got to the station early and did our due diligence. The ride went quickly and soon we were in the hustle and bustle of Florence. Of all the places we have been in Italy, this is the most crowded place so far. Napoli was a busy city, but it was a city alive with residents wild a small percentage of tourists. This was the opposite, a majority of tourists with a sprinkling of residents. No problem, we breezed by the crowds at the Duomo, found an "out of the way" restaurant for lunch and then headed over to the Gardino de Boboli. This large garden was a breath of fresh air and a green oasis right in the city.
