2 May 2025 Salerno: The Museum at Paestum

As time passed the Greek settlers intermingled with the Etruscans who gave way to the
Romans and so on.  Each of these cultures left behind artifacts that tell a story of their lives.  This museum was where all of these things were stored.  From marble sculptures, to lost coins, to offerings to the gods, to decorative additions from the buildings.   We really enjoyed the three floors of goodies to look at.

The next train is in 25 minutes and google says it will take us 13 minutes to get there.  There were no taxis so we walked

There was a wooden walkway for us to walk on but the sun was hot

Alas the train station

Oh no, we can not validate our tickets!  The machine is broken.

WE had time to spare before the train showed up

We were supposed to tell the representative on the train that the validating machine was broken but he just read his book the whole way.

We passed several large storage areas like this one that had spools of cable
