We had tried to visit this church four times previously. Apparently it is open twice daily, in the mornings and in the afternoon. But this may only be on the weekends as we tried during the week and could not get in. It was worth the wait as it was a masterpiece of baroque design. The building was started in 1269 and was finished in 1315. Work continued through the ages with chapels built in 1468, a bell tower in 1471, a portico in 1481 and so on. The frescos and paintings were painted in 1495 and additional works in the16th century.
A funny door knocker on the way over
The full length of the church
Pulpit
Richly painted
The colors are all very bright
The top looks like another dome perhaps St Peters in Rome?
Organ pipes
Alcoves
The hole in the top of the dome looked like a crescent moon
So very far up in the air
The main altat
A flower wreath
Looking back towards the door
This was very impressive
