We needed to stock up on goodies at the market so we mapped a route that would take us to a museum and a big baroque church. Unfortunately the museum no longer had Dali works and instead wanted 25 euros to see various optical illusions. We passed on that one and headed to the church which was open according to google but in reality it was closed. Zero for two...grrr! Our luck took a turn for the better as we found a tea shop. This was not your ordinary tea shop. They had two kinds of gyokuro tea! Huzza! We bought 100 grams and that should keep us tea happy till we get to Japan in a few weeks. We continued on and passed the Basilica of San Frencesco. It was also closed but was still nice to see from the outside and there was a sunny palazzo where we could sit and eat our lunch. The market was still stocked up with all the things we had on out list plus a few things we did not even know what they were. On the walk back we stopped in and bought a lemon cake for 4.50 Euro. It must have been delightful the first thing in the morning but was a bit dry by the time we had it later in the evening. Another two blocks and we finally passed an open church. We spent five minutes there, at the tops, as we had all our market goodies but we had passed this church many times so it was nice to see what was inside
