We took the hoho to the jewelry museum and saw so many cool things that here is a post devoted them. First we saw a statue for a different kind of sport, bull-leaping. In this sport the bull is never harmed and the matadors jump over the bull or use the bull as a launching pad for acrobatic maneuvers.
A statue of a man trying to break up wood while camping
A very tall woman pickpocket
Several military folks and a brass band
Changing of the guards
Classic municipal buildings
They don't build them like they used to
Four great buildings in a row
Talk about putting someone up on a pedestal
Great frescos behind the columns
Commemorating the man who first figured out how to hail a taxi
The National Library
Swans on the balconies
Four figures hanging out on the roof
Lots of gesturing
This balcony feels sturdy enough to use
Refreshing
Grrrrrr!
Sea monster devours woman
Three stories of Zeus
Not an efficient way of transporting water
New bunny ears
Colorfully abstract
Am I blue
A tiny church
The chair district
The busiest square so far
Folks and vendors abound
Lessons in fashion
Bananas
An even smaller church
Basket cases
Mercury rising
The steel awnings on the large market
Fish, produce, and everything in between
The smells alternated between fowl and fish
We will return
More fountains and statuary
Bring enough pencils for everybody
The same show is always on
An even more ornate balcony
Symbolic of the unity of the nation
Time to rebuild
The winningest General in the war for independence from the Turks
The old Parliament building
Looks like Sophia Loren
Angry Owl
Very detailed mystery
Etched Glass
A tiny chair and two little scooters
