28 October 2023 Zadar: An Easy Going Day

After our morning routine we headed to the green market.  We bought more veggies, zucchini, spinach, lettuce, yellow beans and some shallots.  Then we went to the cheese shop for some aged sheep's cheese and to the butchers for a pork lion.  Lastly we bought some local salt made just a few kilometers away.  Loaded down, we brought it all back to the place and settled in for some routine domestic activities.  Wash was big on the list.  We had been going non-stop for just under a month and it has worn us out.  We got several loads of wash done and hung the wash out to dry but then it started raining.  The sound of the rain was so soothing that we both took a little nap.  Feeling refreshed we took a walk along the water and sat a bit on a bench in the sun.  Then it was home to cook the pork lion and just take it easy. We watched some Survivor and the Great British Baking Show.  The full moon came out to greet us and the time changed over night

Rowing in the morning calm

We could hear the coach on the megaphone

So many seagulls flying, squawking and standing around

Seagulls love this roof, over 40 in this picture

A picture of the salt flats where we bought some local salt

The market was busy

Lots of veggies but not so much fruit

The folks in the stalls were calling out in Croatian to us

Beans!

Either a communal olive pressor wine press

Beautiful but expensive, 45 euro per bouquet

Love these roses

Right to left, Eagle, Wolf, Fox and Ram at the cheese shop

Smoked meats that may be for humans or may be for dogs.  The ones on the ens seemed to be more bone than meat

A two headed cormorant

Large glass screens with nautical pictures

Later in the afternoon we walked along the water

Each boat had a number.  From ZD220 to ZD230548 such a large difference

The lowest number yet  ZD69
