When we were planning the trip we researched wineries in this region. While doing that we figured out that it could be a great loop trip. We could start going north. visit wineries then head to the west for more wine and then come back down south making a big loop. Von Siebenthal Winery has been around for 10 years and was founded by a man from Switzerland. He was actually maning the wine bar when we drove up. He knew Leo so we were able to get the last tasting of the day. In addition there was no charge for us. The winery was quite beautiful and I could see the Swiss architectural influences. We saw a cool hound dog who knew better than to go inside the winery. She was very friendly and we stopped to give her a belly rub before we went in and after we came out.
These are the two lines that we got to taste
Awards aplenty
The founder and owner of the winery
A complimentary wine tasting for two
The building was filled with beautiful architectural highlights
Looking out to some of the outbuildings
The second floor is his office but the entire space is very open
Light streams in from the ample windows
This rug must have been 20 ft long
The timbered roof made me think of a Swiss Chalet
Rub my belly is what this dog is saying
A panorama of the idyllic setting for this Winery
It was late in the day but as Providence would have it we were able to get in here taste some wines and get out before it was closing time
