Thanks to Leo I know that the Spanish name Arizona means arid Zone.  Thanks to Leo I know that Montana means mountainous the Spanish word for mountains is Montanya.  Thanks to Leo I know the name for the poplar tree is Alamo. Traditionally poplar trees are planted along property lines. So remember the Alamo remains remember the property lines! And Alameda California is a place with many poplar trees along property lines also in Chile they take an entire week to celebrate their independence. That is an entire week of heavy drinking!  Thanks to Leo I know that Santiago is the only South American Capital that is not on the ocean. Originally the Spanish tried to put the capital on the coast were Valparaiso is. However due to the Pirates continuously attacking Valparaiso it never could really settle in. So instead a different Spanish Expedition which came down in between the coastal mountains in the Andes settled the capital where Santiago is now.
