20 Sep 2021 Paris Tour Part One

It may be touristy and it may ne a cliché but when in a new city we just love to take the hop on hop off bus,  It's a great way to orient yourself to the sights and the layout of the city.  After seeing all of the buildings, statues, memorials and obelisks I now understand why they call Buenos Aires the Paris of South America.  Funny how Paris is never the "fill in the blank" city of Europe.  We got on the Big Red Bus right by the apartment and within 5 minutes we were on top of the bus and in motion.  Great timing on our part.

Controversial in its time but pretty cool

Gold and green

Please keep your heads and arms in the bus at all times

The Seine, Frances second largest river

To spend the time and money on architectural highlight such as this is a true reflection of how much the French appreciate beauty

I would love to understand all the symbolism here

Notre Dame under re-construction

We miss our little dog Pickles, who looks just  like this.

Sprawling structure

Yes, I miss-read this too

We will rebuild it

So much scaffolding

This sums it up, extravagant exuberance

Snatched from Luxor in Egypt this gigantic obelisk stands on the spot that the guillotine was set up during the revolution.  They estimate that 2600 folks got the chop here.
