August Rodin is my favorite sculptor. He was a contemporary of the Impressionists and quite the controversial figure in his day. He is considered to be the father of modern sculpture. He tried three times to get into the School of Fine Arts but was declined each time. Recently more attention is being given to Camille Claudel his assistant/lover/collaborator/competitor. The museum is located on an expansive grounds that are planted with trees and flowers. We had another perfect weather day! There was an exhibition of Picasso's works alongside Rodin's. There were also works by Van Gogh, Camille Claudel and others. Rodin was a big collector in his day which was a bonus for us. After the museum we walked to lunch. It was 20 minutes or so of walking. Great people watching and a fun walk through the left bank
