23 September 2021 Paris Musee des Arts Decoratifs

Leslie and Laura tried on new swimming suits!  I think that they look great but the ladies chose not to purchase them.  The Musee des Arts Decoratifs is a very odd sort of museum.  First of all it was sprawling.  It was on floors 3 - 9 of a very large building.  It contained a variety of collections that have little overlap from collection to collection but a very extensive amount of items within each collection.  An example of this is the collection of Second Empire goods.  With the rise of a new gentry after the revolution the French became enamored with all things from the orient.  There were not enough genuine artifacts to meet the demand so new items were manufactured in Japan and China to meet this demand.  They had hundreds of items that were in this style from ceramics, glassware to furniture. Then the collection next room would be from another period entirely.  There was another wing for photographs, one for modern furniture, one for old Daguerreotype photographs.

This Rhino horn was made of composite materials so no one will steal it

There was no explanation of this. Is this guy shaking his fist at God for giving him some sort of pox
