The Bordeaux wine museum is housed in this 8 story modern building. It was an amazing experience with high tech interactive displays. The audio guides could link to almost all of the different stations. There were interviews with wine makers all across the world. They had displays that looked at how wine influenced cultures over time and across different civilizations. One section tired to show all the five senses and how they influence your interaction with wines. Scent, color, texture, sound and food pairings each had their own area. We really liked the scent areas where we smelled everything including jasmine, vanilla, butter, shortbread crackers, berries, and pencil shavings. We had a snack of Iberian ham, cheeses and tiny desserts on the 7th floor and then up to the 8th floor for a glass of wine each. From the 8th floor we looked over sprawling Bordeaux
Crossing the bridge into Bordeaux
Amazingly muddy water
Sunflowers seem to be the major crop
Lots of tiny villages along the way
These four towers are part of a bridge
Street art
Large wall sized displays showing wine regions
A drawing of the Pollux aphid
A huge hall inside the building
This area is presenting scents that one may find in the aromas of wine
You pump the diaphram and the scent comes out of the horn

Looking out the windows from the 8th floor
Looking down to the center of the building
A huge dry dock next to the museum
So many tower cranes building more and more buildings
A late snack for lunch
Is it too much wine or is that a UFO?
Looking down the elevator shaft
The ceiling is made of wine bottles
In line for our wine
Lots of wine to choose from
Leslie got the one with bubbles
