24 December 2021 Lima Peru: Getting our first walk in

Christmas eve surf party!  Folks were out and about all day long.  We got our breakfast and then went out for a walk.  All along the ocean front are walkways and parks.  We walked north to the "Love Park" watching dog walkers, joggers, bike riders, kids with their new presents, handicraft hawkers, Groundskeepers, surfers, soccer players and the like.  We had read that Christmas Eve is the big day in South America but it seemed very busy to us.

In a wet suit and ready do dive for tasty items

Large sculpture

Too early for the folks to be laying out on the beach

The Mall across the way is in the spirit

We were not allowed down into the mall unless we show our vaccine cards

Loosing battle against the ever present dust

A big restaurant complex next to Waikiki Beach

So many beautiful flower gardens

Morning glorious

They take their surfing seriously

Abstract concrete art work

Birds of Paradise ready to fly

From this angle I took this to be a woman ina red dress.  It is actually a bow and arrow

This is why the groundskeepers are out everyday

Flower beds as far as you can see

Here is one of the few pedestrian accesses to the beach.  We watched a guy walk it with his surfboard

Some sexy loving is going on behind us

Insert wolf whistle here

Big foots in the love park

Mosaics all along the love park path

All directions point to love

These are the ice cream trucks.

Four types of dahlias

The flowers love this climate

I looked this up once and the regular spacing is due to wave interference along a beach with defined edges
