Normally we would not take two flights ion one day if one of them is international. But in this case it seemed like we could take the flight from Puerto Natalas with ample time to catch the flight out of Santiago. The first flight was 3.5 hours and since there are only two gates in Puerto Natalas it was a breeze getting onto the plane. There are new rules because of Covid and so when the plane landed we all had to stay in our seats for what seemed like forever. They let a random selection of people off of the plane from the back. perhaps tight connections? Then we got off, got out bags and then started the process all over again. Had to get our boarding passes from the counter and we felt very smart because we had already filled out out Covid Affidavit for Peru. Several people were typing furiously into their phones trying to complete the form. As we had discovered the night previously there is a bug in the application process for USA citizens. The phone number had to go in twice, home phone and cell phone. The cell phone portion was wonky. We were able to bypass this by putting in too many numbers in this field, but it worked and we had our QR code! Thank goodness we were stubborn and had completed this process early. The next leg was first class so after a few hours in the lounge wee poured ourselves into our seats. The boarding process is starting a full hour early due to all the extra issues. So we were quite comfortable as the boarding process was completed. We were still comfortable as our departure time passed by. Not so comfortable an hour after we should have been in the air. Finally an hour and a half late we took off for another 3.5 hour flight. So the moral of the story is, if you have to sit in a seat for almost 6 hours straigt make it a first class seat
