This building, the Grand Torre, is the tallest in South America at 300m (984 ft). We had wanted to go here forever so today we took the plunge. Ironically the Jumbo Supermarket that we went to on our first day is located in the adjacent mall. We were so focused on finding the Jumbo that we never looked up to see the building! It was 50% off today so we go to he top on the cheap. The sheer size of the city of Santiago became apparent to us as we looked in each direction and there was no end to the city. We were talking to the elevator operator and he told us that there are 33 districts in the city, some of them were hidden from our view behind the hills of Santiago. It was a very interesting conversation. We found out that he is a teacher and lived in Salt Lake City. We went up a level to the open air viewing area. Just a great experience all around. We went back to Jumbo on our way out to pick up more beer and wine. We also got some veggies and fruit to make it look better. Once we got back to the house we got ready for our massages at the Ritz Carlton which is just a few blocks away.
