The Larco Museum is wrapped in bougainvillea, three stories high and as many colors as I have ever seen. It also has many other types of flowers, a fine restaurant and of course the museum. Our meal was superb and we were able to eat outside enjoying the flowers and cool breezes. The museum houses the collection of 5000 years of Peruvian culture. From pottery to silver and gold fetishes and royal ornamentation. The collection started with 600 pieces that were passed down in the family to Rafael Larco Hoyle who expanded it by buying up collections of 600 and 8000 pieces. It soon outgrew the first location and is now housed in a 18th century Vice Royal House. There was an erotic exhibit that showed the wide extent of the Pre-Inca civilizations ceramic description of their sexual belief systems. We have never seen anything so extensive and accessibly displayed. This was the first museum to open up its storehouses as well as the display pieces

Here is the picture that Eduardo's daughter took of us. He got a good laugh when he sent us this picture. He said that his drome was looking all over Lima and found us at the Larco Museum Restaurant. That freaked us out more than a little.
