A craft fair at Feira Hippie park

On the advice of our driver we decided to visit a locally  produced craft fair in Ferira Hippie Park. It's over in Ipanema and was quite extensive. Leslie found some handmade lace items that she bought. We would have bought some of the beautiful leatherwork had they not been so very large. There was a man who burned maps into leather and the detail was astonishing. There was a woman who cut out leather into different shapes and had a 5 foot by 4 foot piece that was all butterflies, caterpillars and vines which was some of the finest work I've seen in a long time. Of course there were silly things and kitschy things but, all in all the quality was very high.  On Sundays they close one of the two streets and so the traffic only goes in one direction and the other street is open for pedestrians, runners, joggers, power walkers, bicycle riders, rollerbladers, skateboarders and any other kind of human powered device you can imagine.
