Dinner at Olympe

In typical gringo fashion we arrived way too early. The GPS said it would take 30 minutes to drive there so we added 15 just in case.  Well the drive took 15 so we arrived at 7 for our 7:30 dinner. Of course they were not ready. We strolled around the neighborhood,  it was dog walking hour. We sat on the bench outside and saw another family celebrating the Festival Junina Party, their daughter all dressed up with ribbons in her hair. At 7:20 they opened the door and let us in. We ordered drinks and ordered dinner. I got the five item tasting menu and Leslie picked the three. It started out with some foi gras on a cracker that you had to take off of a tray. Both of our crackers broke with various levels of disaster. One landed on the tablecloth and one landed in my hand.  The rest of the meal was Disaster free. The food was quite tasty the presentation was great and we had a wonderful time.
We passed a famous fortune teller business

It has been in the same location for many many years

Not ready for visitors yet

Miss Leslie is ready

So much bread

Nice Decor vaulted ceilings with bare brick

Romantic lighting

My first course was a transition from beat to ricotta cheese as the base it was topped with a selection of pickled vegetables

My second course was a poached egg with chicken foam on top of a crunchy cheese

The bowl was obviously handmade and had holes throughout the rim

The third course was a sea bass with hearts of palm drizzled with Squid Ink

The last course of the meal was asai coated lamb loin with gnocci

Dessert was tapioca with pineapple ice cream again in the fancy dish

Leslie got a chocolate fudge and chocolate chocolate dessert and after that they brought out another set of desserts

It may appear that Leslie is sad due to the tiny dessert that is left

In actuality she is happy because she just stored all of those desserts in her purse
