On the Brazilian side if the river there remained one final trail to conquer. This one had the most steps and the steepest gradients. We had the choice between drinks poolside or a slippery treck. Of course we chose the harder task. It was 4:30 when we started and the sunset was scheduled for 6:15. With stopping for pictures and the up and down nature of the trail we made it to the end and back just in time to see The sun dip over the horizon. The trail gave us views of the other side of St Martin Island and some areas we could not see from the other side of the river. It ended in a walkway that extended into the river and was swept with spray. As we progressed down the trail the mist got thicker and thicker.
Also at the end of this trail was a sight for sore knees, an elevator! From the top of the elevator it was a short walk back to the Belmond Hotel.

And what are we to do with this information?
The foggy mist
Vultures looking for a roost
Bearing the devils throat
New view
The walkway
The elevator, hallelujah
The sun is setting
I am not sure what this is about. Is it small pieces of rain ponchos tied to the fence as a symbol of love?
Swirling beauty
The last rainbow of the day
There she is
Walking off into the sunset
So close you can touch it
Lit up by the setting sun
Goodbye falls
Time for dinner
