From the flower is was a 30 minute walk to the El Atendo Grand Splendid bookstore. We passed by an old gentleman playing guitar. A giant rubber tree, and I mean giant. A dangerous crosswalk where Toto bus number 52 almost splattered Leslie. We were standing at a crosswalk waiting for the walkies to light up. It was a tricky section where you could not see around the corner to see what was coming. I felt like we needed to stand there longer after the crosswalk light lighted but I didn't say that to anyone. So when it lit up and it was clear to go, Leslie went. She took two steps into the intersection when bus number 52 came through at a high rate of speed almost running her over. At least he honked at her to add an insult to the experience. We thank our lucky stars we are here to continue the vacation . We passed an extensive graveyard but luckily we won't have to put anybody into. It is not Rigoletto. This is the cemetery where Evita Peron is buried as well as other Argentinian dignitaries. Then we kept walking and we got to the Grand Splendid bookstore. It is aptly named and a pleasure to walk through an experience. They had so many different types of books. As well as an extensive music area down in the basement.
This reminded us of Cairo
Fly Birdie fly
Selling feather dusters along the walkway
Helping the Iron Man hold up the rubber tree
The tree was so big that there was actually a fence around the base.
Here is the base of the tree maybe 20 feet in diameter
Here was a near splatter
This is Iconic Buenos Aires
Majestic trees rising out of the cemetery
Mausoleum row
A statue that's within the cemetery
Making her Splendid grand entrance
The biggest bookstore in South America
Built inside an old theater. They had a cafe on the stage area
Splendid indeed
