The lower Trail

Since we had to travel to Brazil today we got up early and got out on the lower Trail. We allotted ourselves 2 hours which we did not need luckily because we had arrange our stuff and check out. The lower Trail although inferior was still quite exciting and beautiful. We had it to ourselves basically because of the early hour. The park does not open till 8 and we were walking at 8:15. There is more up-and-down to this Trail than the others and because of that we were able to look up at a lot of the waterfalls.
Spider web

Big honkin spider

I have been walking on the trail for about 15 minutes when We Came Upon some steep steps. I grabbed the railing and on the second step and giant ant about a third of an inch long bid on to my finger. It drew blood and hurt like hell. I sucked the poison out and it tasted Citrus II must be the formic acid. But it didn't swell up too bad so I will survive

The lower Trail has palm trees

It also offers branches as a Anchor Point for the near ground of the photograph

St Martin island

We're so happy to be here

Even happier now

Beautiful flowers all along the way

A tiny waterfall towards the end had gray Swift's. They live underneath the waterfall and there was a group of 20 to 30 of them all hung on the side of the cliff.

you can see the water falling on the left side

Twin Falls

Little and far away

It was so loud down here with all these waterfalls that Leslie and I had to yell to be heard.

Just a little fall

After the lower Trail we got back to the room and the Sun was shining on the devil's throat

When I close the sliding glass door it made a distinctive squeaky noise. Sure enough several monkeys immediately came over thinking there was a mini bar to raid
Don't give me that look
