The Gold Museum

Just down the street from the Central Square is the goldmuseum. As we approached the museum we saw a man on a rope hanging from the top of the building. He had a giant sandblaster in his hand and was reaching out to the greatest extent possible sandblasting the wall. It must have taken a huge amount of athleticism to be able to do that. We went into the gold museum and throughout our stay we could hear the sound of the sand blasting. It was an otherworldly sound.  The displays started from stone tools and rudimentary Ceramics and progressed into exquisite ceramics and some of the finest metalworking I have seen to date. They even had magnifying glasses in front of some of the pieces so that you could see them because they were so very small. There was another display of Contemporary Art right next to the gold displays. We stuck our heads in there for a couple of minutes and then headed back to the hotel for lunch.
