Faberge Museum part 2 objects du Art

So many additional beautiful items were found at this museum. The rooms themselves were pieces of art. There was a very extensive discussion about the types of enamelling that they did. From a very rough enamel to a transparent enamel and everything in between. I did not have enough memory card in my phone to take picture of everything and I hope I don't overwhelm the viewer with so many pictures but we were certainly overwhelmed ourselves.

My favourite piece of art in the entire building

The ceilings must have been 20 feet tall and so very elaborate

This may have been a seal for using wax to seal up correspondence

Paintings were on the wall beautiful chandeliers on the ceiling great pieces of art in the centre

Each room had a different colour that set the tone for the artwork within

A surprising amount of cigarette smoking related items period these included ashtrays and cigarette holders and whatever this item is

Perhaps the highest art in enamel work is represented here period this is the inside of a cigarette case with light shining through it

The chandelier could be mid century modern but it's much older than that

Let's go to the Opera

I think this is a brooch

Very beautiful enamel work

Vibrant colors

A type of traditional shot glasses for drinking strong liquor

Another great painting on the wall

The double headed eagle here is a symbol of royalty on this nice silver platter

A happy chicken

Another translucent cigarette case

Even practical items were made very fancy

The Crying peasant is made of precious stones

Woof, I say woof!

Is snail also made of precious minerals

And first prize for the best bow tie goes to the photographer

Even the doors were done at the highest level of quality

An elephant for the top of your cane

A lone rhinoceros

The yellow room

It seemed a bit crowded but it's nothing compared to what came later

Gilded elegance

Tea anyone?

Purse or cigarette case?

It must have been hard to eat off this plate. He certainly wouldn't want to swallow a ruby with your larks tongues

The red room

Elegant silver work
A whole new Row similar to a Greek Frieze
