One last royal palace

We saved the smallest royal palace for last. It is also the most recently built royal palace in was started in 1825 and finished in 1849. There were no pictures allowed insude so I don't have that any pictures of the items within. In comparison it is very understated and very simply decorated. I guess there's no comparison to Catherine Palace in Russia but it was still very nice to tour. We learnt a lot about the Royalty of Norway. We also learnt about the history of Norway. It was forcefully aligned with Denmark for many centuries. Then it was forcefully aligned with Sweden. The Kings of Sweden were also kings of Norway and would get crowned as such. Then when Sweden became a constitutional monarchy Norway got its independence. A vote was put to the people as to whether they wanted
the monarchy and they voted yes. So a delegation was sent to Denmark to ask the king of Denmark if his grandson could bemocome the king of Norway. He accepted it the offer, and interestingly enough there was a lot of family ties already to Norway and Sweden. The new King of Norway's grandfather on his mother's side and on his father's side was also the King of Sweden. It was a hot day 88 degrees and as we got there early, we took a walk through the park. We found some water to drink which was much needed. Then we saw cool and interesting things on our hot walk back to the airbnb
Not only was there a female guard here, they were to on duty that same day. She was very nice and personable

Queen Maude her shyness

The royal palace

A statue to the patron saint of the funny bone

A very hard day to be wearing a black uniform and walking back and forth and hot stones

In a sculpture garden in the park was this wolf

The rabbit was scared for good reason

Somewhere under the rainbow

Here's a man who knew how to wear mutton chops

This is one fancy dog

This Bridge was most hard. Not only was a closed off at both ends it wasn't over anything. We look down underneath and there was no reason to have a bridge.

We love the sentiment but of the plants are dead and the person was a mannequin

There is no end to the sculptures here in Oslo
