The mighty ship Fram

I read about the Fram in a book about Greenland when Knud Rasmussen traveled on it during his Artic expeditions.  Little did I know the true history of this ship.  Beyond being the ship that took Amundsen and his crew to the South Pole successfully. It also went the farthest north and the farthest south of any conventional vessel. It was used by Fridtjof Nansen during the first  traverse of the Greenland interior in 1888.  It was used to explore the northern passage. It's circumnavigated the South Pole. It was built to survive ice and  icy seas.  In fact it was designed to be locked in the ice sheet and then drift over the north pole. That the entire ship was put inside this building a task itself an engineering feat.  The interior walls of the building are also screens for an audio visual display. It shows the entire ship-board experience so to speak. They had a rocking bench that would rock as the video went.  The video showed rough seas, it showed being stuck in the ice, it showed icebergs going by.   I did not sit on the bench nor did I look at the rough seas videos.
