Riga Latvia

We had late start as it was raining a bit and we lost an hour from the time zones.  So it was a perfect day to sleep in.  Sleep in we did, we've been getting out for breakfast until 10 a.m. Thank God for the Arts Cafe because they always have stuff that we like. After we got prepared and got out we walked through old town and wandered around until we got to the water. That's where we found the very nice tea house. It's right on the lake in the park and it looks like a pagoda. We were eyeballing possible Canal ride boats from there. The boat was not ready to depart while we were there and we would have to wait 45 minutes. So we decided to walk along the park towards where the ship is. Because we had heard thunder and it was threatening rain. We got down to the Opera House area where there was another boat rental place but we felt a few drops. A few drops and thunder usually means a lot more rain on the way so we jumped into a taxi and went back to the ship
Legend has it that the man who put this up was denied entry into the guild house. So you put a cat facing the guild-house in a aggressive stance

I counted 11 spires on the horizon, 7 in this picture alone

The view from our deck

Across the river the buildings are much more modern and so is the bridge

Beautiful copper tops to the churches

Stone and copper

The Round house next to the church

Narrow passageways

A bike shop

Some of the nicest buildings faced the Central Square

The details on a brick building

The Central Square had a large art installation which I will detail later

Once we reach the Central Square they were more and more people

A party bike

Folks it along the sides and then they can pedal the bike as it goes through town

Thank you to those that plant the flowers

This reminds me of the face of a bird perhaps an owl

The turret of a castle poking up

Meowwwww

So many spiers

There's the castle

Does this represent a sailboat?

We found another Square

I think the rounded part of this building is very nice

Looking from the tea house down to the water we see a canal boat and a bunch of flowers

A nice wooden canal boat

The park is simply stunning with the water and The Greenery

Such a formal pose

The Opera House

The dancer sculpture with thick clouds encroaching in the background

A fun sculpture a man a woman and his dog and some photo bomber that looks a lot like Fritz

Beds of flowers are planted everywhere

This Fountain floweth over in front of the Opera House

In the center of the park is this magnificant sculpture

A close up

The entire sculpture is very tall

Fun cutouts of people in Old Time dress

The skies are threatening indeed
