What a cool place! We were very excite to see this opera. La Boehme is a very old opera by Puccini that has been performed many many times. Perhaps that is why they decided to stage this performance as it it was the 50's. It was performed in Italian and subtitles were provided in German. So it is a good thing that we read about the plot beforehand. The show was grand fun. There was a café scene that had 50 people on stage at one time. At the end of that scene they all came out for a curtain call and applause. We guessed that those folks got to go home afterwards so they got their applause early.
