We had a difficult time deciding between ordering from the menu or ordering the tasting menu with five dishes. Thanks goodness we chose the tasting menu because the range of items and the quality of each dish mad this the best meal of the entire trip. The restaurant had one Michelin star and the chef really put out a well thought out and superbly executed menu. Pictured above with our second round of desserts is Erik Prossegger. What a fabulous way to cap off a great day.
The Glass Garden Restaurant
Perhaps this saying is worth a tattoo?
Our first pre meal selection. A seared swordfish with shots of carrot and ginger soup, after consumption
Our second pre menu selection was a series of three snacks served on polished oyster shells and placed under a bonsai tree
Each one a tasty snack. Here is some salami on cheese with onion garnish
Ham with onion and pickles
Salmon mouse cannoli with caviar
Home made bread that was crusty on the outside and warm and soft on the inside
Three types of hand crafted butters to go with our bread
Our first selection is a scallop on top of swiss chard with some bits of peanuts on the bottom and a rice cake on the top
Our second dish was rabbit. The slices of rabbit are the white colored layer on the top of the pumpkin tarragon and citrus base
Our third selection is a Hamachi fish dish with wild broccoli and tiny crab bits
The table next to us had a couple with the best hair in Salzburg. The gentleman had waist length blonde hair and the lady had platinum colored hair in a decorative braid.
Our neighbors to the left ordered a crepes flambee
Whoosh it is on fire!
Our fourth dish was venison cooked to perfection
We ordered the triple chocolate for dessert but ate it all before the picture could be taken
Four tasty tidbits amongst the rocks, two shots, two small bites and egg shells filled with a creamy delight. Don't eat the rocks please
We were amazed at that this dessert was served in actual egg shells
Look who came out to join us? Mr. Moon!
