We got started at 9:30 and right away snow capped mountains! Our trip went through Switzerland from the east to the west and along several large alpine lakes. We drove through it all: sun, rain, fog, wind, calm, tunnels, bridges and flat lands. As soon as we got to France we got off of the highways and drove the last couple of hours on the back roads. That meant roundabouts, 50 km/hr zones as well as cute Alsace villages and towns, farm fields and animal filled pastures. We really enjoyed the back roads of France.
Corn fields that go on and on
Empty roads that were just for us
Half timbered houses like we saw in Colmar
We got to inspect them closely as we had to slow down through town
Colorful like candy
Fine tile work on the roof
We followed this little blur car for a long distance
Each turn provided a picture postcard view
Our side of the road lunch spot
