15 October 2021 Vienna: The Spanish Riding School

The Spanish Riding School is not in Spain but in Vienna.  It is the home of the Lipizzaner Horses famous for their fancy stepping and jumping skills.  There was no photography allowed as I was reminded after just two shots!  So it goes.  There are no actual performances that we could have attended due to the sparse winter schedule.  But we enjoyed the training session.  There were two sets of six horses that each worked out for a half hour.  There were two types of riders that had different hats and jackets.  The training riders wore helmets and the senior riders wore the Napoleon type hats and jackets with tails.  The horse treats were stored in the back left tail of the jacket.  A great time was had by all!

I was just getting warmed up for some picture taking...

when I was told... Sir, no photography is allowed!

A very ornate venue

The horse kept eating his mask!

And they are out!

Some fine statuary on the outside
