We left Zagreb after a fine breakfast and a 20 minute conversation with the couple next to us. They were Hartson and Lynette and they are from London. We talked travel which should come as no surprise. They are also retired and have the travel bug. We had allot in common and we will be watching for them as we go out into the world and become migratory. We had a quick drive to Ljubljana, the capitol of Slovenia. There were banks of fog at the beginning and the temperature dropped steadily as we got further into Slovenia. The GPS got us right into town and the parking that we had plotted was easy and convenient. We walked through the farmers market and got veggie envy. This market is open everyday except Sunday. We liked the looks of the cafe "Most" but it did not appear to be open. I walked up the the sliding doors and they opened so in we went. So glad that we did, this was a super tasty lunch. The waiter was very friendly and once he told us the specials we did not even need to look at the menu. We ate our lunch and then we were off to Lake Bled less than an hour away.
Cheerio, mates!
Leaving Dubrovnik
Our passports got stamped again
Tiny towns all along the way
On the road in Slovenia
Here we come Ljubljana!
A palace up on the hill
We were dragon a bit this morning
The bridge from this side
Lamps to match the dragons
What do you do with an old air raid shelter? Make a WC
A series of shops, butchers, bakeries and the like
Very cool market with veggies galore
Narrow streets
Needing a bit of work
Only a single bed wide on the skinny end
Mum-believable
Oh to be staying longer, we could buy so many flowers
Great painted building
Funky sculptures scattered everywhere
Shops and cafes all along the river
Nice dining room with pictures of bridges everywhere
Chanterelle Mushrooms with cow cheese
A hearty mushroom soup took the chill right out of us
A hell of a salmon salad
It was right on the river
Here we had the Most delightful lunch

We drove under this hill
There surely must be a story about this bridge
The bridge from the other side
Dragon butt
Great green monster
Scary Dragon teeth
Three very distinct styles
and the inevitable graffiti
Just outside the old town the buildings are still classic
On our way out!
