13 October 2021 A boat tour in Vienna

We just love the "hop on hop off" busses.  Lucky for us the Vienna pass came with the hop on hop off (hoho)  and a boat tour on the Danube Canal.  When we came out from lunch it started raining on us so he hopped over to the hoho stop and we jumped on.  It was a fine tour to the dock area where we boarded our boat.  It took us along 15 km of canal with an island to our right and the city to our left.  The canal area is a haven for graffiti artists and there was some great stuff and some no so great stuff.  In places it was just too much stuff.  The start of the tour was old buildings but as we progresses newer styles and funky constructions appeared.  We had some tea and some hot chocolate on the boat and we were happy to be covered at it started to rain again.

It is a bit damp as they would say

But as soon as the rain started it ended and the chariots came out to celebrate

A part of the royal complex of buildings

Even a run of the mill building has fine flourishes

Over the top!

They don't mind the rain

Look to your left, look to your right

Masks are required as is hot tea and hot chocolate too!

One the right bank it is no longer the old city so new architecture prevails

An odd art installation of shopping carts plus the ubiquitous graffiti

The barracks building plus graffiti

We got to see an entirely different part of the city

A fast flow of water

This is their waste incinerator plant

A flock of birds etched into the glass on this bridge

What is it?

The art obscures the weird construction, odd angles and elevated parts everywhere

The cracken!

Willy Wonka of trash burning

Woof!

20 some bridges cross the canal

The trees are definitely changing

Blue skies behind

End of the road for the boat

Chalk this up to confusion

That is one big dog!

I saw these  windows with a rainbow effect.  It was just my sunglasses!  So I took the picture through them

More Wonka on our return trip

Muskrat painted on the old repurposed railroad arches

Pidgeon!

Nice Apartments

The top is all glass!

A strange array of tiny huts
