Hutong is a Chinese word for alleyway. It represents the type of restaurant that you would find in a back alley in China. We had eaten at a place called Hutong in Hong Kong at had a very great dinner. So we have fond memories of Hutong. We will also have fond memories of this Hutong. We started out with three kinds of dumplings, duck, crab and pork with mushrooms. Leslie got a chicken and noodle soup which was huge and ended up being leftovers for breakfast. I got a hot and sour soup. We originally had 7:00 reservations but decided to get there early. Its a good thing we did because we were there for mot more than 15 minutes and the entire restaurant was full. The food was excellent and the our dishes came out bang bang bang. We were done before our original reservation time even arrived. On the first floor there were making the dumplings so it was like being in the kitchen. On the second floor it was like being in the restaurant and on the third floor it was like being in your own home. The 3rd floor had a private seating area for large parties. Leslie made up stories for all the folks seated around us and the people heading upstairs too. We walked back a different way and popped into a story that had the most unusual items.
All bundled up and ready for our walk to the restaurant
Furiously making dumplings
Beautiful woodwork on the side of a nearly empty restaurant
It definitely has China feel
My hot and sour soup

Now it is full
After all the dumplings that we ate they had to make more!
