Tortoise Time

At 4:00 it was time to feed the tortoises. These giant aldabra tortoises are from a island in the south part of the Seychelles near Madagascar. There had been giant Tortoise on this island, Mahe, in the past but they are gone. The aldabra tortoise were introduced to this island for food but now they are kept as pets.  The oldest one here on the resort is 108 years old the youngest is only 18. The oldest one are all of the Seychelles is 236 years old. They have a lot of wrinkles and wattles on their necks.  I am feeling better about my neck area.  We were given branches of leaves that the Tortoises like to eat. There were lots of kids excited to feed them but none more excited than we were.
