Leslie is subscribed to a magazine called tea time. We are avid tea drinkers and she saw in the magazine that the best tea in London is at Claridges Of course we had to go. It did not disappoint and was the best tea time we have ever experienced. We had a very lovely waiter by the name of Paolo who was from Sicily. It was a very popular place for tea and for getting married. We saw two different brides getting pictures taken on the grand staircase. We had the standard sequence of afternoon tea. It started with several savoury sandwiches then went on to a warm scones. It then a deviated a bit from there. The last course was sweets as is usual. But we also had a hazelnut apricot cake which was extraordinary. What was also extraordinary was the volume of food and so we were unable to eat it all. Then Paolo came over with a happy anniversary sweet bit as well. We selected our teas from an extensive list. Leslie got Jasmine silver tip. This tea is made up of only the three uppermost leaves of the plant, the silver tips. Instead of adding jasmine flowers it is laid out on freshly picked jasmine flowers each night for six consecutive nights. That is fancy! I got a Malawi Antler tea. This tea is very rare and is served in only two locations in the world. One is Claridges. As to the other location everyone remains tight lipped. The reason for the rarity is that this tea is not made from the leaves of the tea plant but from the tender spring shoots of the plant. These "antlers " are picked at only one location in Malawi and only a few kilograms are produced each year. That us super fancy!
Not a jukebox but it is the entry way for the bathroom
