Isle of Man here we come. It was an easy ride to the John Lennon Airport through some nice neighborhoods. We checked in and waited for the gate to be assigned. They like to keep you guessing. We finally caught the announcement and the line was crazy long. But lucky for us, we had the priority seating, so to the front of the line we go! The flight was mostly in the clouds and it was raining and windy when we landed. We bought our GO cards which authorized us for all public transportation. So we decided to follow the advice of the lady at the counter and take the bus. That was until we stood on the wind and rain for 15 minutes without a bus to take. Then off to the cab stand we went. The first cabbie was out for a smoke and I told him we would not ride in his cab. Who wants to ride in a car with a smoky stinky driver? I am glad I did that because the next driver was the most educated cab driver ever. He had a PhD in international relations, a MBA, a certificate in ome other area. We had the most interesting conversation on the way to the hotel. There we checked in to our two room suite with kitchenette. Very costy with a view of the harbor. We got settled and it was time to go to dinner. The front desk could not get any cabs to answer the phone so we walked. It was still windy and misty but we were hungry so we hot footed it to the restaurant. As we are almost there we come across the taxi stand. Oh well we didn't need one anymore!
More stairs for us! Good thing we checked our big bags in.
